In The Face of Evil

When the enemy tells me “You are not enough. You will never be enough.” I straighten my shoulders, stare back into the face of evil, and say “You are not welcome here.”

Resist the devil and he will flee.

With the Lord’s strength strong in me, I fiercely determine to be ever kinder, ever more compassionate, and ever more hopeful. Why? Because fierce joy and steadfast confidence in my Saviour put the darkness to shame.

Darkness trembles at His voice.

I truly believe that worship is a weapon. I believe that joy, compassion, and kindness spit in the face of evil and drive it away.

Bitterness, hate, and unforgiveness only give the enemy more territory in this battle, so I will combat doubt with confidence, shame with grace, bitterness with tenderness, and cynicism with hopefulness.

It is only His work in me that gives me skin in this fight.

I confess that when I look at this world I cannot generate hope in my own heart.  Yet, when I look into the face of God and see His eyes of compassion, hope lights a fire where there was once only cold, hard stone.

Any revival of hope and courage is from His hand and for His glory – where my deepest joy is found.
